Quarashi – Krókódílamaðurinn

”Krókódílamaðurinn is in every way a very unattractive song and lyric. That’s why Quarashi chose it.”

From the beginning it was decided that there wouldn’t be a “country-dance” version of the song, but that we would rather make a song and beat that would be in perfect context with the content of the lyrics because in our minds the lyric was the was the main focus and in 1981 hard punk fitted it in the spirit of that time, but now it’s 1997 and times are different

It was decided to rap the lyrics and that was done. For fun it could be added that the basis of all good rap is good lyrics, and they certainly weren’t missing here.

Megas probably plays different roles in the minds of musicians but in our minds he has a bigger role than with most. What role models do Icelandic rappers have, that is Icelandic ones?  Only two come up, Megas and Einar Örn Benediktsson, each in their own way.  That answers the question about what role Megas plays in our lives, because in our minds he’s the first Icelandic rapper and much more than that.

The rappers Höskuldur and Steini put up the lyrics and Sölvi laid out the song in collaboration with Viðar Hákon. The song was recorded in Nýjasta tækni og vísindi”
