Hössi’s Corner

Höskuldur Ólafsson, born on the 11th of november in 1977 to his mother and father,a Reykjavík dentist and his older brothers. He is the second youngest of five brothers.

He was one of the founders of Quarashi and was a rapper and lyricist for the band until he quit in 2003.

After quitting his work with Quarashi Hössi turned to his studies and completed a BA in Icelandic, he went on to study Literature in England and finished with an MA degree, he is currently studying Philosophy.

For a while he worked at an icelandic newspaper called DV  where he had a regular column, he also worked for another icelandic newspaper called Morgunblaðið.

Random Information and things related to Hössi:

Hössi rapped over a song called Skyzo, this was not a Quarashi song but a collaboration with another icelandic band named Súrefni.

Hössi played an important role in an Icelandic movie called Í Takt við Tíman which was a sequel for an old Icelandic movie made by a very popular icelandic band called Stuðmenn. In the sequel Hössi plays the son of the leading characters “Kári Már Hörpuson”.

His character in the movie was in a band called Mónakó, a song is performed by them in the movie and that same song also came out as a music video in Iceland. In the movie the guys of Quarashi also perform at a talent show.
