On September 19th 2026 Quarashi will perform at Laugardalshöllin where the band performed when returning back to Iceland following their tour of the USA. To celebrate the 2026 show, here is the whole 2002 show, uncut, as it was meant to be seen.

1996
The Beginning — 1996

The Beginning

Sölvi Blöndal, Steinar Fjeldsted and Höskuldur Ólafsson, form Quarashi in Reykjavík, Iceland. Their debut EP 'Switchstance' is released on Lax Records, showcasing a blend of rap, rock and electronic music, introducing a new vibe to the Reykjavík music scene.

1997
Quarashi — 1997

Quarashi

Quarashi releases their self titled album after the runaway success of Switchstance, establishing the band as a force in Icelandic music with their raw energy and bilingual lyrics.

1999
Xeneizes — 1999

Xeneizes

Quarashi's second album 'Xeneizes' drops with harder beats and sharper rhymes. The rest of the world starts to take notice and Quarashi's fanbase expands far outside Iceland.

2002
Jinx — 2002

Jinx

Jinx is released on Columbia and Time Bomb Recordings, becoming Quarashi's US debut. The singles 'Stick 'Em Up' and 'Mr. Jinx' appear in multiple forms of media including 2 Fast 2 Furious, Alias, Smallville, and NBA on TNT commercials as well as video games. The band toured the world and were part of the 2002 Warped Tour lineup.

2003
Mess It Up & OPEE — 2003

Mess It Up & OPEE

After Höskuldur leaves the band, Quarashi is left with the question 'what next?'. The answer came with a collaboration with Icelandic rapper Opee and the track 'Mess It Up' in July 2003. 'Mess It Up' ended up became one of the most popular song of the year proving the band was nowhere near finished.

2004
Guerilla Disco — 2004

Guerilla Disco

Guerilla Disco becomes Quarashi's fifth studio album featuring a new permanent lineup with underground Icelandic rapper Egill 'Tiny' Thorarensen joining in 2003.

2005

Hiatus

After nearly a decade of groundbreaking music, Quarashi disbands in 2005, leaving behind five studio albums and a legacy as Iceland's most influential rap rock act.

2011
Anthology, Beat Em, Besta Festival and Nasa Gigs — 2011

Anthology, Beat Em, Besta Festival and Nasa Gigs

After six years of silence, Quarashi suprises everyone by announcing their return, a gig at an outdoor music festival Besta Útihátíðin on 9 July 2011. The news of the return return blew the scale of anticipation and fans old and new gather to celebrate one of Iceland's biggest band. The return was so successful that the band scheduled two extra gigs at Nasa nightclub. The return led to a compilation of album of their 19 years of work with a bonus track Beat Em. A live album recorded at Nasa and a Besta Útihátíðin also followed.

2014
Rock On and Þjóðhátíð í Eyjum — 2014

Rock On and Þjóðhátíð í Eyjum

After years of recording silence, Quarashi resurface with 'Rock On' the band's first new single since the hiatus and the quiet first step toward a return. All five members join forces and perform at Iceland's outdoor festival in Iceland, Þjóðhátíð í Vestmannaeyjum.

The Reunion and Þjóðhátíð í eyjum — 2016

The Reunion and Þjóðhátíð í eyjum

After their hugely successful performance at Þjóðhátíð í Eyjum in 2014, Quarashi announces they will return to Þjóðhátíð 2016. The band also releases a new song, Chicago with all five members taking part.

2021
Greatest Tricks — 2021

Greatest Tricks

Quarashi releases the compilation album 'Greatest Tricks', collecting the band's biggest hits and fan favorites spanning their entire career. It's the first official Quarashi vinyl released.

2026
30th Anniversary — 2026

30th Anniversary

Three decades of epic grooves, thunderous beats and sharp rhymes have brought us here. A commemorative stadium concert at Laugardalshöll in Reykjavík, new music, and this digital museum honoring every bar, every beat, every moment. Quarashi is ready to kick ass!
